VISUAL INTERPRETATION OF MUSIC

In the late 1970s, I painted my Opera Series on canvas. Painting while listening to the music, I was fascinated by the amazing opera stories. After 45 years of expressing myself through conventional techniques on paper or canvas, in 2008 I started to experiment with the computer. I listened to the music and fed into the computer those images that I had painted in the 70s. I integrate images from the original paintings while receiving instant-to-instant emotional impacts from the music.

IMAGE INTEGRATION

SEARCHING image integration to use technique and not to be used by technique.
I take advantage of today’s technological advances and at the same time keep the human emotions alive. To express something from within is the foremost goal of an artist, much more valuable than merely showing off technique. In other words, the meaning and the visual impression should be considered first, with technique providing the foundation to deliver the artistic message. Today's technical advances, combined with the human mind and hand, open endless possibilities to push the envelope in artistic expression. I believe any media, any kind of tool in our contemporary time the computer should help to bring science and the arts closer to each other.
